I don’t like to use the word hard. Things are hard if you don’t put in the hard work and have a strong intention to overcome any obstacles.

Emily Koopman: If you could rewrite any fairy tale, which one would it be and what would you change?
Freya Tingley: What an interesting question! To be honest with you I'm not much of a writer so it would probably take me weeks to answer that! I think each fairytale is unique and magical in its own right! My favorite fairytale is Beauty and the Beast, probably because I related most to Belle because of her brown hair haha! Looking back I think there's a good message that beauty is more than skin deep!

Emily: What attracts you to a role?
Freya:I love characters that are written with dimension - that leap off the page and feel like a real person! Characters that are interesting and captivating and fulfill more than just a stereotype! I love when characters experience a range of emotions and the audience is able to see difference sides of the character!

Emily: What are some things you were obsessed with while growing up?
Freya: I was obsessed with curry and still am! It's my all time favorite food and it would probably be an injustice for me to fail to mention that here! Did I mention I like curry?

Emily: What are you working on next?
Freya: I'm currently working on an indie film titled No Way to Live - a great indie film about an interracial couple in the 50s who go on the run! There's a lot of twists and turns and the directors are just fabulous!!

Emily: Is there a book you'd really like to star in an adaptation of?
Freya: I'm yet to read it, but there is a book called Uglies, and the concept sounds awesome!

Emily: What is your proudest accomplishment?
Freya: My proudest accomplishment would probably be walking to the beat of my own drum and despite having the occasional person earlier on in my career saying you can't do this or you can't do that, I’d do it anyway! Never let anyone tell you you can't do or achieve something! That's just not their reality!

Emily: Was it hard to get a foot in the acting world? How did you do it?
Freya: I don't like to use the word hard! Things are hard if you don't put in the hard work and have a strong intention to overcome any obstacles! Hard work is, however, very important and having a strong intention that you will achieve whatever it is you decide you want to accomplish! I've always believed that plan b is a plan to fail and by that I mean that if you have a strong enough intention and assertion that you will achieve plan a, then so you should! People may say, so what if plan a doesn't work out? But you create your own future and have the ability to control the universe. Hopefully you don't let it control you!!

Emily: What’s your favourite horror movie?
Freya: When I was younger I loved horror movies but as I've gotten older I find them harder to watch! The scariest horror film I've seen is The Ring! But I really like more Gothic horror like Pan's Labyrinth!

Emily: Do you ever keep anything from set(s)?
Freya: On one film I kept an outfit from it but apart from that no!

Emily: What's something embarrassing that has happened to you as an actor?
Freya: I've never had an embarrassing story as an actor but as myself, well that's another story!
